Jer Bergin, who ran against Eddie Downey for IFA President, offered his support for the new President at last Monday night week’s AGM.
The National Treasurer of the IFA stated that there was no “easy solution” to the beef crisis.
He defended President Eddie Downey, who he said had made the “right moves” since coming to office.
“There is a clear political responsibility here,” said Bergin.
“Politicians and factories created these circumstances two years ago, and they now want to get out of it.”
