Employers will have a opportunity to get up to speed on supports available to help them hire staff at a meeting in Portlaoise this month.

Employers will have a opportunity to get up to speed on supports available to help them hire staff at a meeting in Portlaoise this month.

On Tuesday morning, September 17 the Department of Social Protection will host a breakfast meeting in the Killeshin Hotel in conjunction with Laois Chamber.

An officer from the Department’s Employment Services Division, will make a presentation outlining the range of supports and services which are provided at no cost to employers.

Services and supports covered on the morning will include the JobsPlus Initiative which is an jobplus.jpgemployer incentive, from the Department of Social Protection, which encourages and rewards employers who offer employment to the longterm unemployed.

Jobplus is a simple scheme for employers to access, offering up to €10,000 for a qualifying recruit, payable monthly over two years.

Employers who have difficulty recruiting staff in Ireland or who wish to broaden their skill base eures.jpgcan get access to jobseekers in other EU and EEA countries.

JobBridge which is a National Internship Scheme that provides work experience placements for interns for a 6 or 9 month period.
