FOUR local companies are in line to win at the MidlandsIreland.ie Best in Business Awards.

Now in its second year, this year’s event is bigger and with the inclusion of more awards attracting entrants from the four counties of the midlands, Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath.

While winning will be the ultimate accolade, shortlisting is a major achievment for the four local companies in the “Best in Business” Award 2012 by MidlandIreland.ie judges panel

Mountrath-based CJ Sheeran is nominated for the The Green Initiative Award.

The wood products company is a previous winner of a Leinster Express Business of the Year award.

Polar Ice is also nominated in this section. The ice products company is a former Offaly Enterprise Board winner.

Clelands Supermarkets is nominated by AvidPartners.

The family-run independent retailer is up for the Retail Excellence Award

Mr. Ronan O’Brien, Zatori Results is nominated by AvidPartners in the The Business Person of the Year Award.

Mr O’Brien’s firm is based in Portlaoise and sells a variety of products online.

Laois Chamber, which is a partner in the awards, wished the finalists all the best at the awards on Thursday, June 21 in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone.

Mr. Ray Byrne, President of the Midlands Gateway Chamber said: “I’d like to wish all the finalists the very best of luck in the competition.

“The MidlandsIreland.ie Best in Business awards will be a highly prestigious award to win because it encompasses businesses from the entire Midland Region, is highly competitive and will set the standard for years to come”.

MidlandsIreland.ie promotes the region across a number of areas to promote development.
