IN the past thirty-three months there have been less than one thousand residential property purchases completed in Laois.

The Residential Property Price Register shows that between January 1, 2010 and September 30 of this year that 903 (328 in 2010, 323 in 2011 & 252 in 2012) residential property purchases were completed in the county.

And this comes on the heels of the Census figures revealing that households occupied by Laois residents increased by 22,421 in 2006 to 27,916 in 2011. Laois has a 74.4% home ownership rate.
