The number of jobs at Laois Shopping Centre has risen to 500 following the location of two shops to the revamped Portlaois centre.

Little Piggy’s and The Parlour have opened new outlets at the centre in recent weeks. Little Piggy’s is Ireland’s largest dedicated children’s shoe chain, and The Parlour is the Midland’s first blow dry bar.

Little Piggy’s cater for children of all sizes. Audrey Cooper is the store’s owner.

“As Ireland’s largest children’s shoe chain, Little Piggy’s offer expert advice and assistance with trained and efficient staff, always willing to ensure that no child ever leaves the store with ill-fitting shoes,” she said.

The Parlour is a walk-in blow dry bar. They also have a nail bar in store where customers can get manicures and pedicures. David Finn, manager of The Parlour, is delighted to be setting up in town.

“We’re a local company employing local people. We’re looking forward to offering one of the only blow dry bars in the country to the community of Laois”.

Little Piggy’s has brought 5 part time jobs, while The Parlour employs 6 people on a full time basis. This brings the total number of jobs created to date by Laois Shopping Centre to almost 500.

Kevin Doyle, Laois Shopping Centre Manager, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Little Piggy’s and The Parlour to Laois Shopping Centre... These two openings will be a great asset to the centre and means our customers can enjoy more time at the centre. We wish them every success in the centre,” he said.
