East Laois Macra have had a very successful year and now hold two All Ireland champions; Tom Dunne (U23 Beef stock judging) and Eanna Leonard (U23 Welding).

They hope to continue their success when their Farm skills team, comprising of John Paul Fenlon, Ned Greene and Alan Davis, takes part in the All Ireland Farm skills competition at the Tullamore show on Sunday August 12.

On July 6 East Laois Macra na Feirme held their Annual general meeting in Flemmings Bar, Ballylinan. The newly elected committee is as follows; President - John Paul Fenlon, Chair - Alan Davis, Secetary - Teresa Brennan, P.R.O -Carl Byrne, Treasurer - Laura Kingston, Assistant chair - James Brennan, Assistant secetary - Thomas Byrne, Assistant tresurer - Leonard Hovenden, Assistant PRO - Peter Farrell and competitions officer - Tom Dunne.

East Laois are holding a BBQ in conjunction with Laois Hospice on the eighteenth of August in Flemmings Bar Ballylinan. All are welcome to attend.
