The Slieve Bloom Association's annual outing has a distinctly 1916 flavour this year.

Every year the Slieve Bloom Association hosts an annual tour and as this year marks the Centenary of the 1916 Rising, the Slieve Bloom Association are hosting a 1916 Exhibitions Tour on Saturday 17th September.

The first stop on the tour will be Revolution 1916 at The Ambassador, followed by lunch. The tour will then visit the GPO Witness History exhibition on O’Connell Street.

The final exhibition on the tour is Proclaiming a Republic: The 1916 Rising at Collins Barracks. The group will stop for dinner before leaving Dublin.

The cost of the bus tour including all exhibition admissions is €40 per person. To book your place on the tour or to find out further information on pick-up points and times call Kathleen on 085 737 6745 or Matt on 087 6726 290.

All welcome, the 1916 Exhibitions Tour is open to both members and non-members.

The bus will depart Kinnitty at 8:30am with further pick-up points in Cadamstown, Clonaslee, Rosenallis, Mountmellick and Portlaoise. The tour will stop for refreshments at Newlands Cross before the first exhibit.
