The first ever Laois GAA Gala Fashion Show is taking place this Friday night at 8pm in the Heritage Hotel.

Among the players swapping their jerseys for the latest fashion ‘rig-outs’ will be MJ Tierney and Kieran Lillis, and Laois GAA development officer Tom Jones. Glamorous Laois Rose Niamh Bracken is joining a host of local ladies and children to model the new winter fashions.

MCs on the night are radio DJ Claire Sutton, and local DJ Noel Brennan.

Tickets at €20 are flying out, reports organiser Michaela Fitzpatrick.

“This is a social night out for everybody, not just GAA supporters. We are promising it will be both full of glamour and fun,” she said.

A champagne reception in the Sally Gardens pub at 6pm will kick off the night, and a craft fair in the Heritage Hotel and a raffle will add to the fun. Top prize is a week’s holiday in Spain with flights to the value of €200 euro (sponsored by Sally Gardens). There will also be prizes for best dressed lady and the best male model will be crowned, and surprise entertainment is also promised.

Tickets can be bought from the participating shops, Erre Esse, Blossom Time, Kearns & Cuddy Menswear, Annie Apple, Krazy kids, The Bridal hall Ballybrittas, Born and Hat Hire Portlaoise.
