After a break of a number of years, the Borris-in-Ossory Youth Club wass reformed last September.

Originally formed back in 1982, the youth club enjoyed a very successful period in the eighties and nineties before lapsing a number of years ago. After the completion of Leaders training courses in August, Borris-In-Ossory Youth Club was re-formed in September 2011.

At the moment, the club is catering for all boys and girls aged between 13 and 15 years. It meets each Friday evening in St Canice’s Hall Borris-In-Ossory from 7.30pm to 9.30pm with a range of activities available including, table tennis, darts, DVDs, X Box games, board games and cards. It is hoped to add more activities in the near future. So far, there are 25 members registered and new members are always most welcome to join. In the coming year the club hope to increase the membership and cover more age groups. To accommodate this, more male and female Leaders are needed to volunteer their time.

Anyone wishing to get involved should contact any of the committee listed below, Chairman Shane Kirwan 086 3050652, Vice-Chairperson Denise Origan 087 6364648, Secretary Canice Sheeran 087 2071267, Treasurer Damien Carroll 087 2194703, Committee Sinead Comeford, Derek Dooley, Edel Sheridan, and Marie Sinnott.
