THE Dunamaise Arts Centre will present a varied programme of summer camps this summer with something for every age group ranging from two years to 100 years old.
The summer will start with Terrific Toddler Time - a parent and child crafts camp with RoArts, taking place each Wednesday from July 4 to August 8. Activities will include puppet-making, drawing, painting, art with music and card making and helps parents explore and expand their toddler’s creativity. The cost is €25 per child (parents are free). This runs from 11am to 12.30pm and is suitable for
children aged from two to five years old.
Artist Gillian O’Rourke will present Art Attack summer art classes for two different aged groups including children aged from four to six years and seven to 12 years from July 16 to July 20. Children’s creativity will flourish with a week of fun artistic endeavours, carefully designed to suit their age group. The cost is €50 including materials.
Music Generation Laois are hosting a Stampede Drumming summer camp with Eddie O’ Neill from July 23 to July 27. This is for two different age groups featuring djembes, african bass drums, shakers and bells. Stampede drumming will develop rhythm and drumming technique and give the chance to perform as part of a group as well as have fun. The cost is €30. Laois Arts Office will present a dance workshop with Erica Borgess from July 9 to July 13 for nine to 15 year olds. Kids can explore the basic elements of dance, space, energy and rhythm while nurturing their expressive capacity using creative movement, contemporary dance and hip hop dance techniques.Book by calling the Laois Arts Office at 057 86 74342.
