After a break of a couple of months the Laois girls were out in force again as the U-12 Development Squad swung back into action.

Despite the distraction of the Bank Holiday weekend and the big Laois match in Croke Park a large number of girls gathered at the Park/Ratheniska pitch to begin their preparations for the second Leinster U-12 Blitz which will be taking place towards the end of September.

Some of the skills may have been a bit rusty but coaches John Buggy, Tommy Hoey, Tom McGettrick and Theresa O’Reilly weren’t long about getting that ironed out, and when it came to the sprints many of the girls had obviously been inspired by watching the Olympics on TV!

The squad sessions will continue on Saturdays at 2 pm in Ratheniska for the next 6 weeks or so and all girls born in the years 2000 and 2001 are welcome to come along as the aim of the Development Squad is to improve the standard of football in Laois.
