Camross and Abbeyleix played out a hugely entertaining fixture for some early silverware, with Camross taking the title after a high-scoring game in Durrow on Saturday evening.

Abbeyleix started the game well with 1-1 inside the opening five minutes, all courtesy of Paul O’Shea. Camross opened their account shortly after as Damien Ryan exchanged scores with Dayne Peacock as the game came to life.
As the half flew by referee Alan Doheny was constantly reaching for his notebook to register scores. Camross added a further 2-7 in the half, with Patrick Burke claiming both goals, while Darren Drennan fired three points.
Abbeyleix didn’t enjoy the same scoring spree as they added just three points, all of which came from Dayne Peacock including a fantastic sideline cut.
Similar to the first half, the second half was action-packed with scores. Abbeyleix added 2-5 in the closing half, with Dayne Peacock claiming 1-5 of which and their third goal coming from a superb individual run from Aaron Carroll.
Camross added 1-7 in the half, with Darren Drennan emerging as their star man with a personal haul of 1-4 for the half and 1-7 for the day.
Damien Ryan and Patrick Burke both added to their tallies, while Paul Kavanagh notched his second of the evening as Camross cruised to a five point victory to claim the silverware.
