Late Kildare revival upsets Laois

Laois missed a golden opportunity to maintain their unbeaten record in the Leinster U-14 championship when they surrendered a 13 point lead to Kildare in the second round in Allenwood on Saturday.

Laois missed a golden opportunity to maintain their unbeaten record in the Leinster U-14 championship when they surrendered a 13 point lead to Kildare in the second round in Allenwood on Saturday.

The O’Moores dominated the opening half and held a comfortable 2-10 to 1-4 lead at the break.

The first 15 minute of the second half gave no indication of a Kildare revival and at 20 minutes Laois led by 4-10 to 1-6 but then the team imploded.

Kildare rattled in three goals between the 20th and 23rd minute and finally drew level well into time added on and the Laois supporters were non too happy with the extra six minutes that the Referee saw fit to play.
