Cumann na mBunscol Division 5 Final
The men in orange scored an inredible eight goals in the first ten minutes of the game to leave Shanahoe with a mountain to climb. They battle on bravely, and they even scored 4-8 themselves, but Paddy were just too strong.
The impressive Taidhg Cuddy scored the game’s first goal within seconds of the throw in, and he added a point soon after. Ciaran Conroy then tagged on another goal, with Robert Delaney scoring a free for Shanahoe at the other end.
It was all one-way traffice after that however, as Ben Shore scored Paddock’s third goal. Further goals from Daire Tobin (2), Taidhg Cuddy (2) and Ciaran Conroy left Paddock 8-1 to 0-3 up after ten minutes.
Shanahoe then showed they could be a danger too, and points from Robert Delaney and goals from Shane Bowe and Dylan Cuddy left it 8-1 to 2-6 at half time.
The second half opened with scores from Taidhg Cuddy and Ciaran Conroy for Paddock, although Michael O’Connor hit back with his first goal for Shanahoe.
It was always going to be difficult for Shanahoe though, and Paddock kept tagging on points. Shanahoe could at least claim goal of the game however, as Michael O’Connor’s late strike was the pick of the bunch.
