Ballyfin rejoice as McHugh inspires SHC return

It was a case of third time lucky for the intermediate hurlers of Ballyfin as, after two heartbreaking final defeats and a traumatic week for the entire club, they produced a superb display to comprehensively defeat Borris-Kilcotton in the Sparrow Insurance intermediate hurling final at O’Moore Park on Sunday.

Ballyfin 2-16

Borris-Kilcotton 2-10

The final scoreline does not do justice to the overall superiority of this Ballyfin side, as they outplayed their opponents for most of the game and it was only a short second half comeback by Borris-Kilcotton that put a respectable look on the scoreboard.
