A last minute goal from corner forward Daniel Delaney booked Camross’ place in the final after a thrilling encounter with Rathdowney-Errill on Thursday evening.
Rathdowney-Errill had looked set to secure their place in the final when Jamie O’Dea’s goal in the first minute of the second half put them seven points clear.
The game started tentatively with both sides trading points to leave the score at 0-2 apiece. Rathdowney-Errill then hit a purple patch, scoring 1-2 unanswered, the goal coming from an O’Dea free.
Camross pulled a goal back through Darragh Moore but this was cancelled out almost immediately by Brian Meehan’s effort at the opposite end. With half time approaching, Camross knocked over two points to leave them just four adrift at the break.
O’Dea’s goal early in the second half looked to had Rathdowney-Errill with one eye on the final but Camross showed a steely reserve as they battled their way back into the game. Substitute Ciarán Collier found the net with ten minutes to go to leave just a point between the sides.
Rathdowney-Errill tried to regroup but a pointed free from O’Dea wasn’t enough to stop the Camross onslaught.
Having held on for so long they might have felt they deserved their final spot but Camross thought otherwise and when the ball fell to Daniel Delaney he made no mistake in hitting the net and breaking Rathdowney-Errill hearts.
