A scoring burst of 3-3 without reply in the first-half proved to be the difference as Rosenallis claimed the Girls Division 7 title in O’Moore Park on Thursday.

Caitlin Dunne and Ciara Poole were the scorers in chief for Rosenallis accounting for 6-5 of their sides total with both players getting a brace of goals in the first-half.

Despite trailing by ten points at the break, Raheen never dropped their heads and battled right to the finish but, despite their best efforts, they couldn’t overcome the large half-time deficit.

Raheen made the stronger start to the game and were 1-3 to 1-2 ahead after just ten minutes with the impressive Niamh O’Sullivan scoring 1-2 and Ellen Donoghue adding the other point.

Rosenallis’ early goal came from Ciara Poole and she also added a point with the other score coming from Caitlin Dunne.

The game swung decisively in a three minute spell as Rosenallis hit three quick goals, two from Dunne and one from Poole and further points from Ellen Conroy and Poole left Rosenallis 4-4 to 1-3 ahead at the break.

There was no let up from the girls in green early in the second-half as they added another 2-2 with the goals coming from Larissa Wisely and ace goal poacher Caitlin Dunne to extend their advantage further.

However Raheen showed great determination continued to battle right to the final whistle. They added 3-3 to their total in the second half, a point from Ellen Donoghue, 1-1 from Eleanor Holland and 2-1 from Niamh O’Sullivan.

Yet despite their best efforts, they couldn’t overhaul Rosenallis as Ellen Kelly and Caitlin Dunne added another goal apiece to round out the win.
