A late goal from Ben Reddin sealed a sensational win for the Laois U-21 hurlers on Wednesday evening over Dublin in O’Moore Park in the Bord Gais Energy Leinster U-21 Championship.
It was a deserved reward for the Laois side who had battled tooth and nail throughout the game.
Having trailed by two points at half-time after having a penalty saved, a goal from Neil Foyle midway through the second-half got Laois right back in contention.
That gave Laois the confidence to push on and they had their noses in front before Reddin’s late goal sealed the win.
It is the second game in recent times that a late goal was decisive for Laois hurlers after the county’s minors knocked out Offaly to also make the semi-final.
The U-21s play Carlow in the semi-final on June 20 with a place in the Leinster Final up for grabs.
