Emo picked up their second win in the League when they overcame a struggling and understrength Ballyroan Abbey outfit with eight points to spare in Ballyroan on Saturday evening.

As Emo claimed their second win in five outings to see them lay mid-table, Ballyroan Abbey have succumb to five successive in the League as their luck shows no sign of turning.
With thirty seconds on the clock, Emo claimed their first of what would be three goals in the game through Chris Gleeson, before Nigel Murphy extended their lead to four points two minutes later.
Ballyroan Abbey pulled a point back through Christy Lalor, but Emo went straight back on the attack and fired 1-1 with Rorie Meredith grabbing the goal. Ballyroan Abbey responded well with a goal of their own after eleven minutes with Mark McDonald rifling the ball into the top corner.
Ballyroan Abbey brought themselves to within a goal of Emo with a point from Sean Murphy, but that was as close as they came as Emo added 1-5 in the remainder of the half through Nigel Murphy (4), Paul Kirwan and Paul Lawlor to see them lead by twelve points at the break.
Ballyroan Abbey were far more competitive in the second half as they four points inside the opening six minutes of the half with Christy Lalor at hand for three of those, while Adam Brennan slotted the fourth.
Emo settled into the half with points from Nigel and Shane Murphy, but Ballyroan Abbey replied almost immediately with points from Christy Lalor and Mark McDonald to leave the deficit at eight points.
Paul Lawlor and Mark McDonald traded frees right at the final whistle as Emo picked up a much-needed second win of the campaign.
