Junior Football Championship

Mountmellick 2-7

The Rock 0-5

It was a win that the hosts fully deserved after they shrugged off a nervy opening quarter to power past The Rock who failed to register a single score after the break.

Eoin Hogan scored the two first half goals which meant that Mountmellick went in at the interval leading by five points, and despite a much quieter second-half in terms of scoring action Mountmellick continued to control the game and The Rock hardly manage to muster a single scoring opportunity in that second half-hour.
