Byrne points the way for Portlaoise against Portarlington

Junior Football Championship

Portlaoise 0–12

Portarlington 0–11

In the first-half every score was being answered point for point but two scores by Colin Byrne and Darren Rogers put Portlaoise in front as they went into the dressing room two points to the good.

In the second-half a run of three unanswered points gave Portlaoise some breathing space and while Portarlington were coming strong at the end, time ran out for them as Portlaoise held on for a one point win.
