Laois juvenile hurling squads in blitz action this weekend

All three of Laois’ hurling development squads will be in action this coming Saturday, August 31, as the U-14 and U-16 squads enter national blitzes and the U-15s take part in a competition with other Leinster counties.

All three of Laois’ hurling development squads will be in action this coming Saturday, August 31, as the U-14 and U-16 squads enter national blitzes and the U-15s take part in a competition with other Leinster counties.

The U-14s travel to Waterford to compete in Division 1 of the Tony Forristal Tournament and start their day with a game against Wexford at 10am, followed by Antrim at 11.40am. The venue for both games is Mount Sion GAA Club. The semi-finals are timed for 3.50pm with the final at 6.40pm.

The U-15s are playing in Wexford for the Michael Foley Cup and will be represented by two teams. Laois 1 have been drawn to play Wexford North (at 11am), Dublin North (noon) and Kilkenny North (1pm) with Pairc Carman as the venue for all games. The semi-finals take place at 2pm with the shield final at 3pm, and plate and cup finals at 4pm. Laois 2 will be playing their games in Farmleigh and are grouped with Kildare (11am), Carlow (noon), Wicklow (2pm) and Westmeath (3pm). Their final is timed for 4pm

The U-16s are in action in Tipperary in the Tipperary Supporters’ Club All-Ireland U-16 ‘A’ Tournament. They are in the same group as Antrim (game at 10.30am), Galway (12.15pm) and Tipperary (2pm) and will play these games in Cahir. The shield final is at 3.30pm, as are the cup semi-finals, and the cup final is at 5.00pm.
