The Heath 0-16

Ballylinan 2-11

When these sides met during the championship last year there was headlines for all the wrong reasons, but Saturday’s game passed off without incident. The only talking points were the goals The Heath gave away, and as they currently sit joint bottom of the table with St Joseph’s, they could come back to haunt them yet.

Gary Walsh has been one of the leading scorers in the county throughout this ACFL Division 1 campaign, and without ever really getting up to full speed, he still hit 1-7, with his goal in the second half a very well taken score.

The Heath were one ahead at the break, 0-10 to 1-6, and they still lead late in the game but a late goal rocked them, and despite a frantic late search for a goal, they couldn’t reel Ballylinan back in as a point separated the teams at the final whistle.
