Mike Delaney and his team will commandeer the top square in the town, and this will allow visitors to view the market during breaks between the quarter and semi-finals of the Football Festival. With an estimated attendance of over 15,000, it will be an ideal opportunity.

All premises in Portlaoise and in particularly main street are asked to put up flags and bunting if possible. The parade route on Friday, June 22 will take in main street and will involve 2,500 children and over 12 marching bands. The Parade is once again being organised by Jack Nolan who is now an old hand at this operation.

It is important that Laois and Offaly use the weekend to show the region and give a midlands welcome to all visitors. It is even more important that Portlaoise brings out all the stops as the town is the focal point for review stands and parade.
