The Leinster Express will commence its commemoration of the 1916 Rising with a unique four week series of publications, the first of which will be included with next week's paper.

Find out and start taking the trip back in time next week, when we publish the first of these commemorative specials.
'Remembering 1916' will consist of broadsheet pages from the Leinster Express newspapers of the time, as well as samples of the stories that were in the papers of the time.
Complementing these will be a series of articles detailing the events of the Rising locally, and reaction to it.
Also, there will be a look taken at life in Laois in 1916, from a number of perspectives.
Guest writers will include former Editor of the Express, Teddy Fennelly, Camross historian and author Gerard Dooley (UCD), Professor Bryan Fanning from UCD, and local historians, Jim Fleming and Seamus Dunne.
