House fire in Portarlington

Three fire units fought blaze

A fire at a house in Portlarlington this morning has been brought under control.

Fire units form Portarlington, Mountmellick and Monasterevin battled the blaze which broke out at a bungalow at Lea Road at around 10am this morning (Tuesday).

It is understood that extensive damage was done to the property.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.

A resident of the house escaped uninjured.
