The purpose built house for Ben & Jake Connolly is now halfway built in Mountmellick, with a callout for help to finish it by June 2017.
Their mother Nicolette has spoken of how her grief at losing two year old Jake, for a time obliterated her interest in the house, to stand as a legacy for the brothers, for other children with life limiting disabilities.
“For Ben I have to remain positive and fight on and remember why I wanted to do the whole project, for their needs and as a tribute to the community for other families when both are gone. To say their lives had a purpose,” she said.
The Ben and Jake Connolly Trust is seeking registered electricians and plumbers to help finish the house.
The public has donated €240,000 so far, with another €150,000 needed.
Both brothers were born with a rare genetic condition, Allan Herndon Dudley Syndrome.
