Public search mounted for missing Portarlington man Tony Egan

A big search has been organised in Portarlington Co Laois for a man who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Portarlington Gardaí, Civil Defence along with family and friends of Tony Egan begin searching on Saturday morning, October 1 at 10am.

The search will commence from the car park near his home at New Mill Court, Portarlington.

Help and support would be greatly appreciated in the search for Tony who has been missing since.

Tony, aged 32, was last seen at Newmill Court, Portarlington at approx. 9pm on Monday, September 19 and has not been seen since.

Tony is described as approx. 11 stone has brown hair and is 5ft 11 in height. When last seen Tony was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and white runners.

Family and friends expressed serious concern for his welfare as he has a medical condition for which he is currently receiving treatment.

In the first days after he was reported missing, Gardaí asked business owners to check the CCTV for any image of Tony that would give some indication of his direction of travel on foot.

Landowners, farmers and owners of commercial premises in the Portarlington area were asked to check any vacant outbuildings they have in an effort to locate Tony.
