The death occurred on Thursday, November 24 of Michael Holland formerly of Coolnacarte, Raheen/ Durrow and Barna, Ballinakill.
Deeply regretted by his wife Josie, sister Maura, sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law John and George, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer. Vigil Prayers and rosary on Friday evening at 8pm. Funeral Prayers on Saturday evening at 6.15pm followed by removal to Saint Brigid's Church, Ballinakill. Funeral Mass on Sunday morning at 11am followed by burial in Saint Brigid's Cemetery.

 

Philomena Mullen - Mountmellick

The death occurred on Wednesday, November 23 of Philomena (Mena) Mullen of Emmet Street, Mountmellick. 

In the loving care of the staff of St. Vincents Hospital, Mountmellick. Wife of the recently deceased Terry and mother of the recently deceased Colm.

Deeply regretted by her family, Polly, Annette (Conlon), Margaret, Thomas, Paul, Terence, Charles, Mark and Philip, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother John (Payne), nieces, nephews, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home from 6pm on Thursday. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Prayers in the funeral home on Friday morning at 9.15am with removal at 9.45am to St. Joseph's Church, Mountmellick for 10am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mary Moloney - Donncarney and Ballyfin

The death occurred on Wednesday, November 23 of Mary Moloney of Donnycarney, Dublin and Lower Sconce, Ballyfin. 

Peacefully in the care of the staff at Beech Park, Nursing Home, Drumcondra. Deeply regretted by her sister Sheila and brother Paddy, brother-in-law Billy, loving nieces and nephews Luke, Noel, Fiona, Antoinette, William, Anthony, Mark and their families, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and all those who loved her dearly.

Reposing at 22 Belton Park Gardens from 5pm on Thursday evening until 7pm. Funeral arriving for 11am Mass on Friday morning in St. Fintan's Church, Ballyfin. Burial afterwards in St. Fintan's Cemetery.
 

Catherine Mahony - Durrow

The death occurred on Monday, November 21 of Catherine Mahony (née Marnell) of Dereen, Durrow.

Peacefully at her residence.  Deeply regretted by her husband Martin, sons Padraig, Francis and Martin, brother Johnny, sisters Mary, Eileen and Josie, daughters-in-law Veronica and Jackie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Callum, Ben and Alex, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing ar her residence from 2pm on Tuesday afternoon. Rosary on Wednesday evening at 8pm. Removal to Holy Trinity Church, Durrow, on Thursday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick Creath - Rathdowney

The death took place on Sunday, November 20 of Patrick Creagh of Ballybuggy, Rathdowney. 

Peacefully at his residence. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Katie and his sisters Moira, Lizzy, Anna and Breda.

Deeply regretted by his wife Breda and his family Thomas, Sarah, Catherine, Patricia, John-Paul, daughter-in-law Anne, sons- in-law Peter and Michael, grandchildren, his brother Sean and his sisters Sr. Margaret, Teresa and Kathleen, sister in law Anne, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing was at his residence at Ballybuggy on Sunday evening. Funeral prayers on Monday evening at 6.30pm followed by removal at 7pm to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney. Funeral mass on Tuesday at 12 noon followed by burial in Rathdowney local cemetery.


Peter Dobbyn - Mountrath

The death occurred on Sunday, November 20 of Peter Dobbyn of Clondeglass, Mountrath. 

At the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his brother P.J., nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing was at Burke's Funeral Home Mountrath on Sunday evening. Funeral Prayers on Monday evening at 6pm, followed by removal to St. Aidan's Church, Killanure, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am,  followed by removal to Medical Research.
 
 

Charlotte Hipwell - Mountrath

The death took place on Friday, November 18 of Charlotte Maureen Hipwell (née White) of Paddock, Mountrath. 

At the Midlands Regional Hosptial Portlaoise. Predeceased by her husband Harry. Deeply regretted by her children Elaine (Payne), Malcolm, Ruth, and Jean, grandchildren, great grandchild, brother Robert (White), sister-in-law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing was at Burke's Funeral Home Mountrath, on Sunday evening. Removal on Monday morning at 11.30am to St. Peter's Church, Mountrath, for Funeral Service at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. 
 

Michael Gleeson - Ballylinan

The death took place on Friday, November 18 of Michael Gleeson of Castletown, Ballylinan.

Reposing was at Rigney's Funeral Home , Athy on Saturday with Rosary at 8pm. Removal took place on Sunday evening to The Church of The Sacred Heart, Arles. Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.


Mary Moss - Portlaoise

The death occurred on Thursday, November 17 of Mary Moss formerly of Abbeyleix Road, Portlaoise and the USA.  

Peacefully in the care of the staff of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband James and mother to Kevin and Pauline (Sweeney). Deeply regretted by her loving family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Margaret Moore - Durrow

The death occurred on Thursday, November 17 of Margaret Moore (née Hennessy) of Tubberboe, Durrow. 
Wife of the late Tom, she is deeply regretted by her son Martin, daughters Ailish, Geraldine and Annmarie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

 Teresa Coonan - Moneygall and Rosenallis

The death occurred on Thursday, November 17 of Teresa (Teasie) Coonan (née Lynam) of Moneygall, Offaly and formerly Rosenallis.

Peacefully at the University Hospital, Tralee. Predeceased by her husband Jack and mother of the late Noel. Deeply regretted by her daughter Fiona, grandchildren Erik and Adam, son-in-law Liam, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death occurred on Thursday, November 17 of Pat (Paddy) McGrath of Shannon Road, Mountrath and formerly of Gurteen Ballymahon, Longford.
Peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family. The death occurred on Wednesday, November 16 of Thomas Casserly of Glenayr Ballinakill Road, Abbeyleix.

Tony Nugent - Kinnegad and Mountmellick

The death occurred on Wednesday, November 16 of Tony Nugent of Tir Croghan, Kinnegad, Westmeath and formerly of Mountmellick and Cabra, Dublin. Peacefully after a short illness at his home.

Beloved husband of Breda and much loved brother of Liam, Patricia,Tom, Breda,Tina, Peter and Bernie. Deeply regretted by his nieces, nephews, extended family relatives and friends.

Thomas Patrick Phelan - Curragh and Castletown

The death occurred on Wednesday, November 16 of Thomas Patrick Phelan of New Park, Ballysax, Curragh, Kildare and formerly of Cuddagh, Castletown. 

Predeceased by his brother PJ and his sister Merty. Deeply regretted by his brother Arthur, sisters Nancy (Downey) and Detta, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends.

Joseph Hackett - Mountrath and Dublin

The death occurred on Tuesday, November 15 of Joseph (Joe) Hackett of Dysartbeigh, Mountrath and late of Glenamuck, Dublin 18.

Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore. Predeaced by his wife Liz, and son Keith. Sr. Joan Bland - Rahan and Portlaoise

The death occurred on Monday, November 14 of Sr. Joan (Betty) Bland of Presentation Convent, Killina, Rahan and formerly Portlaoise. 

Sadly missed by her brothers Donal and Alec, step-sisters Mary and Sheila, step-brothers Bernard and Joe, sisters-in-law Betty and Patsy, her Presentation Community, Killina, Rahan and the Presentation Congregation, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

The death has occurred of Mary Frances Mooney Portarlington, Laois and late of Mount Merrion, Dublin.

Mary Frances passed away on November 12 peacefully at Ashbury Nursing Home. She will be sadly missed by her loving sister Kathleen and her brother Gerry, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

The death occurred of Josephine Greene (née Wheeler) Killimy Road, Emo, Laois on Saturday, November 12.

Died peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, surrounded by her loving family.

The death has occurred Dr Joan Mac Carthy Our Lady's Manor, Dalkey and formerly of Mountrath, Co. Laois on November 8 in her 94th year.

Dr MacCarthy died peacefully at St Michael's Hospital, Dún Laoghaire. Sadly missed by Mairsíl, Garrett, Jim, Eileen, her cousins Margaret, Paul and Mary Anne, Gill families, many friends and former colleagues.

The death has occured  of Richard Dick Sheppard, Clondalkin, Dublin, Carlow and Durrow (formerly of HB Ice Cream), in his 90th year.
