Cullohill lady raffles her diamond ring for Haiti

Cullohill lady Ann Kilbride is raffling off a €1600 diamond ring she won at Laois Indoor Motor Show, to raise money for Haiti.

“I helped raise money in the past for Haven who built a house in Haiti in 2010. After the recent disaster in Haiti, the poorest country in the world I was hoping to raise more funds,” she said.

Ann had dressed in Edwardian attire to win 'best dressed' at the recent show.

“My vision was to win this ring to raise money for the people of Haiti. I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work of Haven and wanted to support them by raising money so I am raffling off this amazing Diamond ring as first prize,” she said.

The ring is valued in excess of €1600 by Gerry Browne Jewellers, Portlaoise where it is being stored safely.

Ann is also gathering prizes from local businesses, with the raffle in O'Connells Pub Cullohill on December 10, just in time for one lucky Christmas winner.

Entries to the draw are €5 a line, available from Bergins Service Station & O' Connells Pub, Cullohill, Unique hair studio, Rathdowney, Vincents Shop in Abbeyleix and Plumbfix in Portlaoise. Anyone who donates €5 or more to her fundraising page at www.give.everydayhero.com/ie/diamond-for-haiti will also be entered into the draw.

“Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Haven, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot,” said Ann.
