Deaths in Laois - November 28, 2016

Mary Ramsbottom - Stradbally

The death occurred on Tuesday, November 29 of Mary Ramsbottom (née Connolly) of Beauteogue, Stradbally
 
Unexpectedly in St. James' Hospital, Dublin. Deeply regretted by her husband Har and family, Bosco, Fergal, Avril (Browne) and Greg, grandchildren Aimie, Dara, Keeva, Emma,Anna, Harry, Edel, Emer, and Sarah, daughters-in-law Joan, Linda, and Threasa, and son-in-law John, sister Eileen (Arrigo), brothers Joe and Donal, sisters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing in her home on Wednesday from 2pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Thursday from 12 noon until 4pm. Family time from 4pm until removal at 6.10pm to The Church of The Sacred Heart, Stradbally arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Ratheniska Cemetery.
 
Joy Murphy - Portlaoise and Mountrath

The death occurred on Monday, November 28 of Joy Murphy (née Holmes) of Rossvale, Portlaoise nad late of Lacca,  Mountrath. 

Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her husband Harry and daughter Angela. Deeply regretted by her loving daughter Sheila, sisters Dorothy (Delaney), Gladys (Danne), Hilary (Shore) and Hether (Donoghue), sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Guilfoyle's Funeral Home, Castletown, Mountrath from 4pm this Tuesday evening with prayers in the funeral home at 7pm. Removal this Wednesday evening at 5pm to Lacca Church arriving at 5.30pm. Funeral Service on Thursday at 2pm with burial immediately afterwards in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mountrath.

Jim O'Flaherty - Portarlington

The death occurred on Monday, November 28 of Jim O'Flaherty of Main St, Portarlington and late of Brownsgrove, Tuam, Co. Galway.

In his 90th year. In the loving care of the staff of Sancta Maria Nursing Home, Kinnegad. Predeceased by his wife Teresa, father of Kevin and Catherine (Finan), father-in-law of John and the late Ailish. Deeply regretted by his children, son-in-law, grandchildren Aoife, Kevin, Jack, John and Liam, nieces, nephew, wider family and friends.

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, on Tuesday from 5pm with removal at 6.50pm arriving St. Michael's Church, Portarlington at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St. Michael's Cemetery.

Anne C. Spring - Athy and Portlaoise

The death occurred on Monday, November 28 of Anne C. Spring (née Hunston) of St. Vincent's Hospital Athy and late of Ballydavis, Portlaoise.
In the loving of the Matron and staff of St. Vincent's Hospital, Athy. Deeply regretted by her husband Barry, daughter Louisa, son Ronan, sisters Sr. Bernadette, Mary and Ettie, son-in-law Brian, daughter-in-law Shirley, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grand-children Diarmuid and Aine, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at The Chapel, St. Vincent's Hospital, Athy from 3pm on Tuesday, with Rosary at 8pm. Arriving at St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy on Wednesday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in St. Michael's New Cemetery, Athy. 
 

Carmel Crombie - Portarlington


The death  occurred on Saturday, November 26 of Carmel Crombie  (née O Reilly) of 47 Pinevilla, Portarlington.
Peacefully at home, surrounded by her  family. Deeply regretted by her  husband Hughie, sons, Darren, Hughie (jnr) and James, grandchildren Tristian, Dermot, Hanna and Matthew, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends.
Reposing at her residence on Sunday and Monday from 2pm with Rosary on each evening at 9pm.
Removal on Tuesday at 11.10am arriving St. Michaels Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St. Michael's Cemetery.

Joseph Brophy - Mountmellick
 
The death  occurred on Friday, Novembe r25 of Joseph (Joe) Brophy of 91 St Josephs Terrace, Mountmellick and Rathoe, Carlow
Peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by his  family.
Predeceased by his mother Mary, his father James, his brothers Larry and Seamus. Deeply regretted by his partner Josephine, his son Brendan, his daughters Rachel and  Debbie, his granchildren Amy, Ellie and Anna, his brothers Mick, John, Tom, Pat,Brendan, Billy, and  George. his sisters Breda, Gerdaline and  Pauline, sons-in-law John and  Billy, daughter-in-law Niamh his grandchildren Amy, Ellie and Anna and extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
 Reposing  at his home on Sunday and Monday with rosary at 9pm on Monday evening.
Removal on Tuesday morning at 11.40am to St Joseph's Church, Mountmellick, arriving for 12 noon Requiem Mass.
Cremation afterwards in Newlands Cross Crematorium

Gerry Fox - Portlaoise

 The death  occurred on Friday, November 25  of Gerry Fox of Kilminchy Nursing home, and Lakeglen, Portlaoise.
Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home on Monday from 8pm.  Rosary  at 9pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to Ss Peter and Paul's Church for 10am Requiem Mass. Intement afterward in Ss Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.
Deeply regretted by his  siter Rita, brothers Peter and Timmy. nephews, niece Theresa Phelan , relatives and friends.

Daniel Bergin - Ballybrophy
 
The death  occurred on Thursday, November 24 of Daniel (Dan) Bergin of Ballymeelish, Ballybrophy.
(Unexpectedly). Deeply regretted by his  wife Agnes, daughter Colette, sons Owen and Padraig, brother Mick, sisters Mary and Margaret, daughter in law Trish, son in law Liam, grandchildren Kate and Jessica, sisters in law , brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing was at his home on Monday evening. Removal this Tuesday evening at 7pm to Killasmeestia Church arriving at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
 

Michael Holland

The death occurred on Thursday, November 24 of Michael Holland formerly of Coolnacarte, Raheen/ Durrow and Barna, Ballinakill.
Deeply regretted by his wife Josie, sister Maura, sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law John and George, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer. Vigil Prayers and rosary on Friday evening at 8pm. Funeral Prayers on Saturday evening at 6.15pm followed by removal to Saint Brigid's Church, Ballinakill. Funeral Mass on Sunday morning at 11am followed by burial in Saint Brigid's Cemetery.

 
Philomena Mullen - Mountmellick

The death occurred on Wednesday, November 23 of Philomena (Mena) Mullen of Emmet Street, Mountmellick.

In the loving care of the staff of St. Vincents Hospital, Mountmellick. Wife of the recently deceased Terry and mother of the recently deceased Colm.
Deeply regretted by her family, Polly, Annette (Conlon), Margaret, Thomas, Paul, Terence, Charles, Mark and Philip, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother John (Payne), nieces, nephews, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.
Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home from 6pm on Thursday. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Prayers in the funeral home on Friday morning at 9.15am with removal at 9.45am to St. Joseph's Church, Mountmellick for 10am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mary Moloney - Donncarney and Ballyfin

The death occurred on Wednesday, November 23 of Mary Moloney of Donnycarney, Dublin and Lower Sconce, Ballyfin.

Peacefully in the care of the staff at Beech Park, Nursing Home, Drumcondra. Deeply regretted by her sister Sheila and brother Paddy, brother-in-law Billy, loving nieces and nephews Luke, Noel, Fiona, Antoinette, William, Anthony, Mark and their families, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and all those who loved her dearly.

Reposing at 22 Belton Park Gardens from 5pm on Thursday evening until 7pm. Funeral arriving for 11am Mass on Friday morning in St. Fintan's Church, Ballyfin. Burial afterwards in St. Fintan's Cemetery.
