All roads lead to Portlaoise this week for community groups and associations who want to get more advice on funding and resources.
Laois Public Participation Network (PPN) are holding a Funding and Resources Workshop on Tuesday, November 29, from 5pm to 9pm in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.
This will be an exhibition style event with different organisations and companies, providing relevant information to community groups about grants, supports, resources, training and insurance.
Laois Partnership will also make at presentation at 7.15pm on the evening about the new LEADER programme, in advance of the official call for Expression of Interests (EOI) for funding under the new Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020.
This event is free and open to all. The event promises to be a great opportunity for people to gather and network as well as getting info on vital funding.
The main aim of the PPN is to connect groups of a similar nature or locality and to ensure community groups have an opportunity to network share their experiences, and to be represented by their peers at the decision making tables of local and county decision makers in Laois.
The other important aim of the PPN is to strengthen the community sector to enable it to contribute positively to plans and policies that will affect communities in Laois. The PPN is involved in public consultations with Laois County Council.
