The Laois International Golf Challenge 2014 will take place this year from Monday, May 19 to Thursday, May 22 in association with Fáilte Ireland, Laois Tourism and Laois County Council.
This year the challenge will take place in Portarlington on Monday, The Heath on Tuesday, Portlaoise on Wednesday and the final will take place on Thursday in Killenard.
It is a fourball, betterball competition (any combination) and appeals to golfers and golfing societies from all over Europe.
There are prizes each day and overall prizes for the winners. There is also entertainment organised in the evenings so it is a great social outing.
And as an extra incentive for Golfers a prize of a New Skoda Rapid worth €28,000 will be presented to the 1st hole in one on the 4th hole in Killenard Golf Course for the qualifiers to the final. Get to the final and you could drive away in the Kia Car.
For golfers who cannot participate in the 4 day Challenge, there are individual days on the
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday where groups can participate in the atmosphere but do not have to commit to the 4 days. If you wish to participate in the individual day competition, the entry fee is €15.00 per person.
The entry fee for 2014 is €100 (Stg£90) per person and this includes 4 days golf and invites to the Prize Giving ceremony in the Heritage Golf & Spa Resort at Killenard. It promises to be an excellent week with great entertainment.
