Four members of the Laois Marlins Swim Club have qualified for the Schools National Swimming Finals, following tremendous performances at the recent Leinster Schools Finals held in Tallaght.

First up on the winners podium was eight year old Ellen Donoghue, who took double gold - in Breaststroke and Butterfly. Ellen attends Tobar an Leinn NS Raheen. As does her older brother Conor who won gold in Butterfly.

Eight year old Toni Dolan, who attends Barnashrone NS won silver in Freestyle, and also qualified in Breaststroke.

St Paul’s NS student Mathew Doyle qualified for the Nationals in the 50m Breaststroke, while Barnashrone NS student Ryan Flynn lost out on qualification by the narrowest of margins - a wonderful performance for the talented swimmer who only joined the Laois Marlins Swim Club in September.

The Schools National Finals will take place in Galway on December 9 and 10.

The Laois Marlins Swim Club is currently open to new members. For details contact Club Secretary Violet Nealon on 086 8953209.
