Swimming medals galore at Community Games

St Pauls Portlaoise U16 Squad won 4th place medals  Aidan Nealon,Thomas Martin, Eoin Donoghue, Mick Carroll, Ian Heffernan andChristopher Carew.
Laois boys enjoyed great success this year in the pool, taking two gold, one bronze and seven 4th place medals.
Sean Scannell, St Paul’s Portlaoise, took gold in the U-12 Backstroke. This is the fourth consecutive year for Sean to take gold at the National Finals.

Gold also went to U-8 Conor McMahon from Emo / Rath in the U-8 Freestyle. Jordan Overton, Emo/Rath took bronze in the U-14 Butterfly.

Mathew Doyle, St Mary’s Portlaoise, got a 4th place medal for U-14 Breaststroke. This is the first time ever for St Marys to win a swimming medal at the National Finals.

The St Paul’s Portlaoise U-16 Medley Squad, Eoin Donoghue, Thomas Martin, Aidan Nealon, Mick Carroll, Ian Heffernan and Christopher Carew also brought home 4th place medals from a very exciting final.

Thomas Martin, St Paul’s Portlaoise, was also placed in the top 6 for U-14 Backstroke, and Ryan Flynn, Ballyfin got to the U-14 Freestyle Final.

The U13 Squad from St Paul’s Portlaoise also swam very well and got into the semifinal. The team was Conor Donoghue, Sean Scannell, Sean Donoghue and Jack Rouget.
