In Group A, last year’s Cup finalists Ryan’s Bar continue to rule to roost with strong victories keeping them at the top. Currently in second is the Phoenix Inn but they are closely followed in third by the Hawthorn Bar trying to secure that all important second place in the Groups which will see them qualify for the Cup finals. The Final Furlong from Ballybrittas hold on to second place and will be looking to stay ahead of 2012 Shield Champions Nappers B to guarantee second place. Unfortunately Leeches bar were removed from this Group due player availability.

Group C sees new team Gogarty’s Bar holding on to first place with a comfortable lead in points in the Group. They are due to play Finlay’s on Tuesday of this week so Finlay’s will be hoping to secure points there to help pull away from Lennon’s A team from Durrow who are level with them on points and only separated by three frames. Naomi’s Bar have yet to get a point on the board and must start moving now or they will be in danger of not making it to either knockout stages.

Group D sees Napper Tandy’s A team hold the lead but they are closely followed in second by last year’s Shield Finalists The Gatehouse from Emo. In third and only one point behind are newcomers Lethean’s Bar who were due to take on the Gatehouse Tuesday of this week. This will be an important game for both teams for second place.
