Marlins enjoy unprecedented
success at Division Two Finals

Laois Marlins enjoyed unprecedented provincial success recently, winning seven medals at the Leinster Division 2 finals held in the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin.

Laois Marlins enjoyed unprecedented provincial success recently, winning seven medals at the Leinster Division 2 finals held in the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin.

It was gold all the way for twelve-year-old Ryan Flynn as he took first place in 100 Fly, 100 Free and 100 Back.

And he secured qualification times for the Division 1 Finals. Zara McMahon also took gold in 100 Back, as well as qualifying for the finals of breaststroke and free.

She too was delighted to get qualifying times for the upcoming Division 1 Championships.

Katie White, in her first ever provincial championship took silver in 100 Fly.

Also taking to the provincial stage for the first time was Luke Smullen, taking bronze in the 100M Breaststroke.

Toni Dolan took silver in 100 breaststroke, while also qualifying for the 100 Free Final.

Ami Pretorius, Faith Benett and Aoife Doyle swam very well knocking double digit figures off previous PBs in all strokes.

Head Coach Irina Dawson said she was thrilled, not only with the results, but also with how well they supported one another on the day.
