This event, kindly sponsored by the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, saw an A mixed doubles pairing and a B mixed doubles pairing come together to form a team of four.
Every set counted as a point in the group stages and it came down to games in the semi-final to determine which team went through.
In the end it was the team comprising of Enda Whelan, Fiona Bonham, Claire Igoe and Brendan Crawford who took on team Leisa Fitzgerald, Juan Venegas, Sinead Stone and Fintan Bracken.
In the A final, Enda Whelan and Fiona Bonham narrowly defeated Leisa Fitzgerald and Juan Venegas 7-6 and 7-5 to gain two points for their team.
In the B section, Sinead Stone and Fintan Bracken proved too strong for Claire Igoe and Brendan Crawford beating them 6-4 and 6-3. With both teams on 2 points after the final, the winners once again were decided on games won hence the title went to team Leisa, Juan, Sinead and Fintan who won 23 games overall compared to the others who won 21.
