Sarah Phelan will be part of a team of and Irish 12 players who will travel to Portugal in August to compete in the European Championships under the guidance of Head Coach Brigid Lalor.

Sarah is a student at Scoil Chriost Ri, Portlaoise and is coached by Pat Critchley and she is also a member of the Portlaoise Basketball Club.

This team is made up of players from all over the Country and have been training for the past 18 months in different locations. They visited Paris last August for games and after this trip to England it is hoped to return to London to play the Sweedish National team at the end of June.

In July the team hopes to travel to Luxumberg for more preparation games before heading to Portugal at the end of July for the European Championship.

Brigid is no stranger to the International scene as she has been involved with Irish teams for 17 years and has travelled to nearly almost every European Country along with Boston, New York, Brazil and Korea to date. She holds the Irish record todate with winning five out of eight games at last Europeans. So hopefully will do as well this time around.
