If you are looking for challenge for 2012 and want to feel a sense of achievement, Portlaoise Try-athlon on the 21st of April is it.

Hosted at Portlaoise Leisure Centre, you can aim to do the whole Triathlon which is 30 lengths of the pool, 20km cycle and a 5km run, or share out the joy and do it as a relay team.

It is an excellent race with great atmosphere. Why not sign up for it and make it your aim for 2012.

Portlaoise Try-athlon is also incorporating two additional events into the very successful TryLaois race.

These are the TryLaois Junior Event which caters for triathletes between nine years and 15 years old and the TryLaois Youth Event which caters for the age group of 16 to 19 years olds.

You can contact the Race Director, Sinead Wearen at sinead@trilogy.ie or check out the website at www.trilaois.ie for more information or to enter the race.

Trilogy Triathlon Club welcomes all adults and all abilities – the age of our average adult member is mid-thirties, and about half new members tell us they can’t swim! Our winter training programme is now underway.

We also cater for juniors and last year Michael Dalton took silver in the European Duathlon Championships. Contact Trish on 086-3866046 or trish@trilogy.ie if you are interested in joining or looking for more information.
