Anthony Coonan, 18 Parnell Street, Tullamore, was caught at the prison with two phones and €100 of cannabis herb.

Defence, Donal Farrelly said that Coonan had been visiting his brother and brought in the phones for him to keep contact with his family.

Judge Staines fined Coonan €100. She agreed to Inspector Aidan Farrelly’s request for the phones to be given to the autism group.
