Snappy advice for students

Transition year students at Mountrath Community School brushed up on their photography skills recently, thanks to Laois photographer Ciara Drennan.

The wedding and portrait photographer explained the mechanics and techniques of photography, and the varying artistic elements in landscapes, people, animals, objects and photojournalism.

The students viewed Ciara’s award winning pieces. and she then reviewed their work, passing on tips and encouragement.

The students are now more willing than ever to get snapping.

“I now have a greater artistic vision when it comes to photography, thanks to Ciara,” said Rory Power.

“Her advice on using Photoshop and computer apps was really interesting,” added Anna Delaney.

“Ciara really encouraged us to take up photography and be passionate about it,” said Elma McEvoy.
