A large crowd turned out for Mount St Anne’s, Killenard, coffee morning on Sunday, June 8 organised as a fundraiser for the Ciaran Treacy Family Support Fund - Bubbles for Ciarán.
In the splendid surrounds of the newly refurbished Retreat Centre, Sr Roisin and her friendly staff were most welcoming and hospitable to all visitors for this worthy cause. Fresh scones, cakes coffee and tea was served to all and people were most generous with their donations.
The coffee morning fundraisers are part of an overall range of fundraisers being organised for the Ciaran Treacy Family Support Fund. A committee was formed by the local communities of Portarlington and Stradbally to channel a swell of sympathy and a desire to assist the Treacy family as they come to terms with the loss of their beloved Ciaran (4) and mum Gillian’s horrific injuries following a car accident outside Portarlington in April.
Committee member Teresa Briody is coordinating coffee mornings in Portarlington and Stradbally (Gillian hails from Stradbally, nee Ryan). There are currently up to 20 registered coffee mornings planned over the next six weeks.
Teresa hosted her own coffee morning last Friday June 6 and wishes to thank sincerely all those who attended and who were most generous with their donations.
