The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance is still open for applications until the end of September.

“The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance (BTSCFA) helps families meet the cost of uniforms and footwear for children going to school,” said FG councillor, James Daly. “The payment rates for the 2013 scheme are €100 in respect of children aged 4 to 11 on September 30, and €200 for children aged 12 to 22.”

Cllr Daly advised anyone who may be eligible not to delay, as it could take several weeks to process an application.

Applications are available in all social welfare local offices and online at www.welfare.ie.
