€2,500+ drugs into prison

A Cork woman who tried to smuggle in over €2,500 of drugs into the Midlands Prison was last week given a six-month suspended sentence and ordered to abstain from all illegal substances.

Inspector Aidan Farrelly gave evidence that Amanda Dineen, Braemar, Old Blackrock Road, Cork, was detected with diamorphine valued at €1,900, and cannabis valued at €640, at the prison on February 16 last year.
