Two students from Coláiste Iosagáin in Portarlington have been awarded for their top Junior Cert grades in Business Studies, in a ceremony last week at Maynooth University.
Fiona Dempsey and Zoe Dunphy represented their school at the Excellence in Junior Certificate Business Studies awards on February 9, accompanied by their Business Studies teachers and parents.
“The school is very proud of the achievements of Fiona and Zoe who obtained a grade A in junior certificate Business Studies. They are excellent ambassadors for the school and deserve to do very well in the future,” said their business teacher Therese Heffernan, adding that it was a lovely day for everyone.
The students were awarded certificates by representatives of the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting, School of Business and Department of Law.
They later enjoyed refreshments in Pugin Hall.
Maynooth University, in association with the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland, intend to continue their initiative for the 2016 examination results.
The ceremony awarded over 525 students from 95 Irish schools.
