Broken rail on bridge could cause a drowning

Missing railings on a bridge in Ballickmoyler could cause a person to fall into a river, Cllr Ben Brennan warned at a recent meeting of the Graiguecullen Port district.

He asked county hall to repair Jim Maher’s bridge, on the R430.

“This is a health and safety issue, an old lady goes along there, it’s not fair on any family. Someone could easily end up in the river,” he said.

Engineer Edmond Kenny agreed to replace the missing railing.
