Part of a 102 house Portlaoise estate has been taken in charge by Laois County Council while another section remains unfinished and boarded up, beside three primary schools.
Aghnaharna Drive was taken on by the council last Monday February 23, however councillors urged that Aghnaharna Court also be finished.
“It is great to see this come on, there were vacant houses and broken windows. I hate to see one part taken in charge, and another left behind. I’d be happier had the whole estate gone forward today,” said Cllr Caroline Dwane.
“Aghnaharna Drive was very difficult, I congratulate the builders who brought it to a very high standard,” said Cllr Willie Aird.
