Heywood’s ‘Joseph’ wows audiences

All 101 Transition Year students of Heywood Community School put on the performance of their lives last week, staging their musical ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ to a rapturous audience.

All 101 Transition Year students of Heywood Community School put on the performance of their lives last week, staging their musical ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ to a rapturous audience.

The performance ran from Wednesday to Friday February 25 to 27 in the school hall, with tickets snapped up by families and the wider community.

Director and Musical Director was teacher Niall Mulpeter.

“They put on a fantastic performance, they really surpassed themselves, and were very professional,” he said.

Over half of the students performed on stage.

“Others worked on stage design, lighting, sound, front of house, marketing and PR,” he said.

Joseph was played by Liam Oxley, with his twin Eamon playing Pharoah.

Ava Lalor was narrator. Joseph’s eleven brothers were played by Damian Carter, Joe Phelan, Joe Finnegan, Danny Nolan, Kieran Delaney, Conor Phelan, Peter Hyland, Ronan Waters, James Carroll, Takugzwa Karigomba and Jamie Devine.
