An authentic Irish workhouse near Rathdowney is attracting more and more visitors, and is now open for weekends and public holidays throughout the summer.
The Donaghmore Workhouse and Agricultural Museum is open from 2pm to 5pm for June, July, August and September.
It gives a unique insight into how inmates lived during and post the Famine period, with tours provided by knowledgable locals. The Museum also has an extensive Agricultural and Household collection gathered on display.
